Kimberly Rigsbee

Kimberly was first introduced to qigong and tai chi while earning her Masters Degree in Acupuncture at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (Tai Sophia) in Columbia, MD. She began teaching members of her community Crane Style qigong as part of her senior project and developed a love for sharing this ancient practice with friends, family, patients and students. Over the years Kimberly has studied with many teachers, yet it was her introduction to Master Li Jun Feng at the National Qigong Conference in 1999 that had the biggest impact on her life. His message, as the conference's keynote speaker, was that qi is unconditional love. His discussion of practicing qigong for the physical, emotional and spiritual life of the practitioner dovetailed nicely with her beliefs about health and her practice of acupuncture.

Kimberly is certified to teach Qigong by Master Li Jun Feng and the International Sheng Zhen Society; and is nationally certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the state of Pennsylvania to practice acupuncture. Following her successful acupuncture practice in Annapolis, MD where she also provided regular classes and workshops on qigong, meditation and stress reduction, she has recently moved to Northeast Pennsylvania and is building another thriving practice. She has had the privilege of making presentations to such organizations as Friends of the Family of Baltimore MD; the employees Anne Arundel County Public Library; Northrup Grumman, and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Kimberly has recently started to explore yoga and has found it to be a nice compliment to her regular practice of qigong and meditation.

As a professional member of the National Qigong Association, Kimberly has serve as Vice President of External Affairs to the Board of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and is a member of the Peaceable Dragon Instructors Association. Her personal warmth and passion for Chinese Medicine creates abundant opportunities for healing and learning for both patients and students.
