At the age of eight, Li Jing began to practice Wushu and was selected for the Beijing Wushu Team when she was eleven. She helped the Beijing Wushu Team acquire its championship. At the age of sixteen, she won her first Chinese National Taiji Championship in the late 1990’s Li Jing won four gold and one silver medal in international taiji competition.

Her first teacher was her father and, when she practiced with the Beijing Wushu Team, she trained to become a professional Wushu athlete with Zhang Gui Feng, Ge Chun Yan, and Yin Yu Zhu.
She studied Chen-style Taijiquan with Master Feng Zhi Qian and Professor Kan Gui Xiang. Her Yang-style teachers were Masters Ye Shu Xun, Liou Gao Ming, and Yang Zhen Duo, Professor Li De Yin and Master Men Hui Feng. Wu-style Taiji was taught to her by Master Li Bing Zi. These teachers helped her to refine and perfect her skills for competition.
Li Jing learned Ba Gua from Master Sun Zhi Jun, representing the fourth generation of traditional Ba Gua. His great skill and humility enabled Li Jing to gain deep understanding and profound knowledge in this ancient Chinese tradition
