Sifu Ko Wong

Sifu Ko WongSifu (Master) Ko connects with those who encounter him in a warm and generous manner. He is a rare being, someone who has spent much of his life learning an art and sharing that wealth of knowledge.

As a young man in Hong Kong, Sifu trained in the internal arts, learning several styles of qigong. His wife Susan and their three boys witnessed his devotion to the medical aspects of qigong as he began training in advanced principles nearly twenty years ago. In 1986 he was officially recognized as a qigong physician and the Ko Wong Chi Kung Institute, founded the year before, attracted many students seeking to improve health of mind and body. Sifu Ko WongHis international reputation as an advanced practitioner in the study and development of qigong principles led Sifu Ko to expand his teaching to the United States. In 1992 he opened a second facility in San Francisco.

Each morning at Huntington Park on Nob Hill, Sifu Ko and his students gather to practice variations of a walking qigong, affectionately known as “Kup, Kup, Fu.” Later in the day, at his institute on Powell St., Sifu assists students in learning a relaxed form of meditation and provides his experience to persons who have arranged healing treatments with him.

Sifu Ko Wong has been visiting and leading sessions in Northern Virginia since 1996. An ongoing program in walking qigong is presented at Green Springs Garden Park in Annandale, VA through Peaceable Dragon.
